L   W o r d   S u r v e y   :   R e s u l t s   c o n t i n u e d . . .

There's usually bound to be a difference between s1 and s2 of a show, how do you feel The L Word's developed from (and since) s1?

Krizten: They're getting more into who the characters are this year, & that's really great, I'm not sure if the show's gotten better, or stayed about on par since last season, but it's still got me glued to the screen, so... ::shrugs::

Shane_be_mine: I guess the show is still evolving, it is still in the growth phase, and I feel its doing quite well.

Athena: -

So_funny: I think it's drastically different. I don't hate Jenny with a passion anymore and Tina, who used to be my favorite character, has developed into a slightly annoying passive aggressive indecisive woman. And going into Shane's psyche has been pretty interesting.

Frida: The plot is much better now. You can see it all come together more clearly. Ilene should stick to producing, though. I appreciate some ideas in her writing, but she has trouble tying things together.

Laura:
As I had said before some character are developped from season 1 to season 2 like Jenny, Tina or even Bette. I generally found the writing and the dircting approach to this second season much better then the first, more accurate and someway artistc, an higher quality then the average tv shows.

Melanie:
We have learnt a lot more about the characters since s1.

Rich: I thought it was a nice transition. I like the way Jenny, Shane, and Bette are evolving. And, what the hell happened to Marina? She's gotta come back for at least one episode!

Jay: Wouldn't know. Hear Tina got pretty large. Shane's original image of 'lone wolf' on the prowl tra la la seems pretty shot to me. I think that lasted for oo... I guess 6 episodes.

Breezer: There's a lot more drama this season than there was last season.

Grimm: Since we already know the characters from season 1, TPTB has been able to develop the story at their own pace. As a viewer, I can tell the show's entering a new stadium. Where the characters came first last season, different storytelling techniques are being experimented with now. To find out what works in that department. Can't wait to see what season 3 will bring!

Jay 2: U see mre of what is goin on physically n emotionally w the characters, there is mre of a deeper past with them all, I mean how did they meet?? There is a also a connection, w boundaries, in season 1 stepping on toes was a big issue, now it's full frontal, that ever1 will say what is on their minds.

Dana 4-ever: The show's gotten better. The writers seem to know what's ok to handle now, and more importantly; they know what they want to write. And IC? Stay off the writers team.

Adamant_Eve: -

Serendipidy:
Season 1 was sort of introducing the character and the mood of the show. Season 2 was more specific, explodig details. I think it developed nicely. That characters were much deeper this season.

J: I think season one HAD to have some things. For exemple, it had to introduce it's characters properly, and tell us something about each of them. And since it had very few episodes, the first season was a lot more introducing than anything else. The second season started to develope the characters a lot more, even if it was still introducing new characters.

Carrie:
I think season one was a tight, excellent season, where season two is pretty... Crappy.

N/A: Much better in season 2, especially the dialogues.

MistressKitty:
I feel like s1 was much more about set up. s2 is sexier, and more dramatic- or it tries to be.

Kincora: Glad to see Jenny's writing disappear. Now if we could get rid of her dream sequences and actually have her interact with real people, life would be good. And lets not have any more goofy write off's like Marina. How fucking dumb do they think the audience is? (well, we are still watching)

Kat: I think it's getting stronger and stronger - and also am I alone in loving the theme tune?

Mailis: I miss Bette and Tina so I cannot really give an answer to that...!

Brea: Again I didn't see season 1.

Alice is my Homegirl: Well… S1 was slightly uneven. S2 is better, it has a nice flow to it and I really like the soundtrack. Uhm, if we skip the awful title song. Storywise, it's as it should be. S1 usually is when the producers test the product, for S2 there's a solid product that can generate ad money and creative forces, etcetera. I'm immensely pleased to see all the good writers we've had this season! They've been fantastic.

Silver_roxy: I think the actors were much more comfortable with their characters, and it definitely showed. I think the writing was excellent from day 1.

N/A 2: Well obviosly there has been great leaps in character development. The hairstyles and wardrobes in season 1 looked like the hairstyles and clothes you would expect to see in a premier season (meaning some outfits were recycled).

Horace: I thought season 1 was more funny and less soap opera like. Putting Jenny in with the main group of the show has had a bad effect on the show. OTOH, I love Dana and Alice's relationship. I miss Marina.

Chloe S: Interesting on Bette and Tina's relationship. But on other plots...too make-believe and draggy. I thoroughly enjoyed s1 (tight storytelling) but not so much s2.

Kaela:
Well I haven't seen season2 yet because it's not coming on for a while so this doesn't really apply to me.

Joann:
It moves too slowly now. Season 1 had things happening more quickly. This season is always about building the next little thing. Give us more big drama.

N/A 3:
I love the way the plots from the end of season 1 are developing in season 2.

Joey:
I'm happy we get to see more of Alice
, Shane and Dana now instead of just the Bette/Tina and Jenny/Tim drama. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for s3, since the story seems to be evolving. S2 could have had some more drama. I hope the writers redeem themselves.

Maria: Jenny isn't the pain in the ass she once was and that is great! I'm feeling that the writers should have invested some more time in Tina, making her less boring and more fun. Easing her up a bit would have done the trick! She's still defined through Bette.

Chelsea: Season 1 was much more appealing. Season 2 was... well... it's actually hard to say. o_o I was actually anticipating season 2 more, but I still hated it.

buggs666:
I think season 2 wasn't as good as season 1, it had it's moments but in the whole wasn't as good.

N/A 4: I'm sorry, season 2 hasn't aired here yet. Could only download the first 3 episodes.

Digitalgoddess: S2 had less focus on sex and more on getting to know the background of each character.

N/A 5: I CAN'T really answer this, I've only seen one season.

Are there any themes from s1 you think they should've kept?

Krizten: Hmm, well, I would have loved to have seen Marina stay, I actually liked that whole, Jenny, Marina thing, & they definately fucked up the way they wrote her off, that was terrible, you'd think her friends would be more concerned, at least enough to find out what actually happened.

Shane_be_mine: Ivan's relationship with Kit, and Marina.

Athena: Yea, the intro.

So_funny: The song.

Frida: THE THEME SONG!!! And Marina. Ok, Lombard couldn't act. But damn she was gorgeous! *sigh*

Laura: I would like to see Jenny's parents and her coming out, I mean she's obviuolsly miles away from them but she never talk about them or about her childhood. and I think they should have kept Marina, no matter what.

Melanie: -

Rich: I really liked the right wing opposition to Bette's art and lifestyle.

Jay: WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO ANNETTE?? Remember, the hilarious roommate of Jenny's from college? Okay so she's not a theme but she's a better character than Jenny. Hire a monkey to kill Jenny with a pretzel.

Breezer: I really liked Lara, but she's coming back so it's cool. I do miss Cherie. Shane was freaking in love with her, and I miss her.

Grimm: The Ivan and Kit relationship could've been further explored. Ivan's gone now and that's sad because he's one of the more interesting characters the show has to offer. I would have loved for Marina to still be around, it was no fun seeing how the character was written towards the end, she was treated like trash. I'm not saying Marina should stay indefinately, only that she could've been around for a proper send-off. And the theme song. My God…

Jay 2: The whole "Jenny learnin how to fix her life now dat's she's gay" they don't show enough in season 2 in my opinion.

Dana 4-ever:
Before season 2 I would've said that Lara should be a main character. Now I'm not so sure anymore…

Adamant_Eve: -

Serendipidy: Kit and Ivan.

J: Yes, the theme song! Lol. I never though I would say this, but I miss that electronic beat. I don't even hate the theme song now, I just don't think it matches the show very much.
Carrie: Eh, not really.

N/A: A girl dating a man but at the same time being attracted by a woman (Jenny's story), bisexuality.

MistressKitty: Marina. Hands down. Losing her was a mistake.

Kincora: Family interaction was interesting with Bette/Kit's dad, Dana's parents, and Alice's mom. Would like to see Jenny's college roommate come back for an update.

Kat: I didn't mind the random flashbacks at the beginning, where you don't realise how it's relevant until halfway through the show. Also they need to mention Marina more - I mean I know Karina's disappeared off to pastures new, but Marina was their friend dammit. Apparently she e-mailed Bette, and neither she nor Tina seemed to even notice or comment.

Mailis: Why did they kick Ivan out? Will he/she come back?

Brea: -

Alice is my Homegirl: Well… the theme song, for starters. I really liked Jenny's college room mate! She had a good attitude and a great sense of humor. "Fransesca's going down'" *G* They should have kept her around and suffocated Jenny with one of her own manuscipts. And Ivan, my man! I really wish they'd kept him.

Silver_roxy:
Hmm...I wanted to keep Ivan on...I think he/she would have been good for Kit...for awhile anyway. Kit needs love.

N/A 2: I feel like they kind of left you hanging with the whole Marina situation. I'm sure that this was intentional but I feel like I need closure on the situation.

Horace: There has been less of the characters hanging around as friends, just joking with each other. I miss that. The Bette/Tina split made any gathering awkward rather than fun.

Chloe S: Marina!! The whole group outings - just fun, not too heavy like s2.

Kaela:
MARINA.

Joann: Keeping Marina around would have been good. Letting Dana and Lara get back together would have made perfect sense since Dana's biggest issue was that she wasn't out. All of a sudden she's out in a big way and they completely drop the whole idea.

N/A 3: Dana and Lara need to get back together. BRING BACK MARINA.

Joey: Ivan. Kit's new love interest Benjamin Bradshaw has the charisma and sex appeal of a dead herring. Ivan's a more interesting character and I absolutely hated the way TPTB wrote him off.

Maria: Ivan and Kit, Dana and Lara. I think Lara could've been developed.

Chelsea: Damn, I still wish Marina hadn't left... ruined Jenny and her storyline. It "could have" been much better for Mia's character if Karina Lombard hadn't have ditched the show.

buggs666: I liked most of the music.

N/A 4:
I'm sorry, season 2 hasn't aired here yet. Could only download the first 3 episodes.

Digitalgoddess: Not really.

N/A 5: I CAN'T really answer this, I've only seen one season.

Are there any themes in the current season you love or hate (and would love to see developed or scrapped)?

Krizten: I guess this doesn't count as a theme, but could we please get some actual music on the show? It's almost like this entire season is just an experiment to see how many different ways they can play the theme song.

Shane_be_mine: Benjamin Bradshaw and Kit should be scrapped. Alice and Dana should become a stronger couple, challenges should not be thrown at them just because.

Athena: I would love to see Shane and Carmen be a couple. And I wish Jenny and Carmen would break up along with Tina and Helena.

So_funny: I love Cameryn but Veronica Bloom needs to go.

Frida: Tina and Bette together! The best theme!

Laura: Well I'm not particulary fond of Jenny's writing ramblings, the all carnivale crap it's too much for my tastes. I love the Dana and Alice story so far, but I sense that isn't going to end as well as I wish. Helena should be scrapped by the face of the earth, even if she's a Hottie. Carmen/Shane/Jenny triangle it's definetly something worth to see.

Melanie: -

Rich:
I like the way Shane keeps having the possibility of love slap her in the face. I like Dana's discomfort with being gay and I'd like to see her get to the point when she's ready to stand up for herself over it.

Jay: Wouldn't know. Damn Americans... some of ya's just think ya own everything. Probably because you kinda.. do... own... most of the world's wealth.... This thing is bloody long.

Breezer: I really don't like Mark. He needs to go away.

Grimm: I'll say it one more time: Ivan and Kit. I don't like Benjamin at all, you can't really grasp his character, there's no interest there. Ivan, on the other hand, is a multi-layered character with substance.

Jay 2: I luv the relationship theme, n how temptation can break up or create new lives, I also like the friendship/loyality theme dat wuz in season 2 as well.

Dana 4-ever: Danish or no Danish, geek love or no geek love… Shit, I can't make up my mind between Alice and Lara! One thing I hate: the development of Dana this season. Where's my geek?!? She's quite a cold and blank character now.

Adamant_Eve: -

Serendipidy: There wasn't really anything this season I hated. That Gomey character was not needed. I'm glad they did the Mark storyline. I really believe its important. It's a reality that we have to deal with and I give them props for exploring it the way they did.
I like Carmen. I hope we see her and Shane together but I don't want it to be sappy and corny because that would not represent Shane at all.

J: I would like to see Bette and Tina continue to work on their relationship, even if they are back together; and Tina continue to persue more independence from Bette, financial or otherwise, because I think that's a main issue for them. People need objectives in life, and Tina didn't have one on season 1. I hate Mark's storyline, but I think that maybe (I said MAYBE) I can forget that first part of his life and just enjoy seeing where he goes from now on. I would like to see him become friends with Shane and Jenny and the other girls, and see what he can add to their group, because they are an all-girls group after all. That would be interesting, I think.

Carrie: I love Dana/Alice. I hate Shane being someone's buttmonkey!

N/A: I hate Helena, she's almost worse than Tonya.

MistressKitty: -

Kincora:
As long as Gomey dies a slow painful death, or goes to prison as someone's bitch, rest of the show is ok. Either that, or he unwittingly becomes target practice for the Pink Pistols.

Kat:
The random word-whispering in the background is a little grating - and the odd xylophone bonging heartbeat in the last episode! Not to mention all the abysmal variations on the theme tune. They need to get a new sound effects supervisor in...

Mailis:
The pervert friend of Mark is too stereotypical and too... well... straight!!! Let's make him fall for a guy! That'll be fun!

Brea: I love the whole idea of Mark having to build his trust back up, and please keep up with Jenny's flash backs I would really like to know her story.

Alice is my Homegirl: The story is tighter, even though I liked Marina from the start I see the advantages of letting her go. High drool factor there, but her story was thin as a thread and the character became pathetic. For the third season I think a similar remodelling must take place. I don't know how, only that a development would do some good. I don't know if it qualifies as a theme, but the line backtracking and story backtracking of season 2 sucks. Improvement wanted. And for God's sake: scrap Jenny's writing or develop it towards dark lesbian erotica. ;) And could somebody please remove Helena Peabody? On a more positive note, I'm nuts for the Carmen/Shane relationship!

Silver_roxy: Love: Jenny and Shane (am I the only one who caught this). Hate: None.

N/A 2: I like the relationship which is forming between Carmen and Shane.

Joey: Theme song is hideous and over-used. Characters and plots: Love 'em all, but make Alice less clingy and let her dump Dana, throw Dana back together with Lara and develope the Shane/Carmen story. Tina's better now, but she's still not all she could be.

Maria:
The new theme song is awful. I loved the blip blop thing. Bring it back and ditch that ezgirl who destroys every scene with whispers and freaky sounds. "Shane-Shane-Shane-Carmen-Carmen-Carmen!"

Horace:
The whole Jenny, writing class. carnival theme has annoyed the crap out of me.

Chloe S:
Love Helena's presence. Hate Mark's secret filming and Jenny's writing.

Kaela:
I haven't seen the new ones so yeeeaaah…

Joann: Gotta get rid of Helena. I would enjoy seeing Bette's character grow a little bit more, and have her and Tina work on building their relationship again. I think Bette's been slapped down enough now and it's time to get on with it or get over it.

N/A 3: Keep Jenny and Carmen together. They are HOT. Kill off Mark.

Chelsea: No comment... it all sucks now.

buggs666: The theme song is kinda bad.

N/A 4: I'm sorry, season 2 hasn't aired here yet. Could only download the first 3 episodes.
Digitalgoddess: Nope.

N/A 5: I CAN'T really answer this, I've only seen one season.

What do you want to happen in the season(s) to come?

Krizten: More character development, better dialogue, Bette & Tina, Dana & Alice, Shane & Carmen, basically I'd like to see a show that knows you don't have to keep breaking couples up to keep their audience intersted, & tell me what the hell Jenny's childhood trauma is, cause I know she has one & not knowing is driving me nuts.

Shane_be_mine: Hey I leave it up to the writers, as long as all the central characters remain.

Athena: Carmen and Shane become a couple and Tina and bette also.

So_funny: Bette/Tina smooth sailing.

Frida: Marina! *BEG*

Laura: Ah!Wishful thinking! Since I'm a very optimistic person I would like to see:
-Dana and Alice still together, possibly with a new Mr.Piddles...
-Bette and Tina together again raising their beatiful baby girl...
-Jenny becoming famous as a lesbian erotica BDSM writer
-Carmen trying to convince Shane that commitment is not a lethal disease.
Now that I think about it, it would be a pretty boring season I trust Ilene, Rose and Guin to find something better...

Melanie: I want Shane and Carmen to get together. I want Dana and Alice to stay together. I also want Jenny to die. I would love to see Bette and Tina together.

Rich: -

Jay: I would like to have more funny. I enjoy the funny. Can deal with less drama. More random acts of sex with animals. Can't tell you how much I enjoyed THAT one. I hope you've realized that was sarcasm. I'm not THAT canadian.

Breezer: I want Bette and Tina to stay together and for Bette to keep it in her pants, and I want Dana to end up with Lara and for Alice to find someone she loves so much that she's not upset with Dana for going back to Lara.

Grimm: I'd like to see Shane in a steady relationship, she's got s good heart and that is a terrible thing to waste on one night stands and nothingness. Aaaand I want to see a more sympathetic Carmen. And I want Benjamin Bradshaw and Helena Peabody to sink to the bottom of the ocean, with their feet cased in cement.

Jay 2:
For Bette to kick Helena's ass!! Nah.........actually i'd pay to see that, but i want to see how the lifestyles will change now that there's a kid in da midst, will people grow up? Or will they be changed?? Kids complicate shit, so that'd be cool to see.

Dana 4-ever: More scenes with the entire gang, together, and I'd like Dana to get some more self esteem but not by being ignorant towards Alice. Dana's a good character, I don't want them to fuck her up.

Adamant_Eve: -

Serendipidy: I want to see more butches. I would like for them to bring Ivan back and explore how Kit and his/her relationship would develop. The details of a relationship of that nature are not ones we're often privy to, and I think the public could stand to see more of that. Shows like this one and Queer as Folk are important because they slowly give people comfort with these issues that for so long they were made to think were wrong.
I really hope they bring funny Alice back. I was getting a little annoyed with whiny clingy Alice.

J: Well, I want everything to work out for everyone, but at the same time, I don't, because then there would be no more L Word. I want Bette and Tina to stay together and Alice and Dana to be together too, just not yet. And Shane should SO be with Carmen, because they are perfect together. And Jenny... well, learning to write better is enough already. But that might take more seasons than The L Word is gonna have. =P

Carrie: -

N/A: Shane becomes the lead character (heh).

MistressKitty: Please, avoid more children. *sigh*

Kincora:
I would like to see Tina push for her and Bette to become foster parents for kid(s) kicked out of home for being gay. That's a story line almost touched on last year, but it became a 3 way with Shane in the middle.

Kat: Definitely a lot more complex love triangle action! I live for it.

Mailis: Please make Bette and Tina go back together!

Brea: Keep up the whole Jenny flashback.

Alice is my Homegirl: I think Jenny could fight with Birch all the time and be her bitch? I dunno… I'd like to see Carmen and Shane together, going through hardships and joy. It would be interesting to see how commitment and Shane works… and they are so fucking good together! I like Alice and Dana as a couple, even though Lara's back. More Tina, her storyline's always viewed through the eyes of Bette or another character.

Silver_roxy: Season 3: Shane and Carmen's relationship to develop, Alice and Dana to split up, Bette and Tina to split up, Mark to figure out what he feels for Shane, Jenny to come out as bisexual, and find love.
Season 4: Shane and Carmen split up, Bette and Tina reunite, Mark to leave the show, Jenny and Shane hook up,
Alice and Dana find other people.

N/A 2: I think that Bette needs to be with more people. I hope that Carmen sticks around too.

Horace: Get rid of Helena and Jenny.

Chloe S: More Helena-Tina-Bette love triangle relationship thingy... Shane should have a better storyline and the character should be better developed

Kaela: I dont know I like the unexpected.

Joann: Let them all be happy.

N/A 3: Hopefully Carmen and Jenny will get back together. Dana and Lara will reconcile. Mark will die.

Joey: Now that the spotlight has been set on Alice, Shane and Dana as well, I hope we will continue to see what makes them tick and how they evolve throughout the series. Angry Jenny is a good Jenny, I'd like to see some elaboration there as well. I hope Bette can find a balance between her powersuit attitude and the milder self she's been showing off lately… and that Tina doesn't fall back from her new found confidence, but she could be funnier… And Kit. Well, we need Ivan or something else that can give her a real storyline. Pam Grier deserves a real storyline.

Maria: Oh, how I want Lara to stay! We need a resident redhead. And maybe then Dana would be less of a jerk again.

Chelsea: Uhhh... *shrug* *is getting bored with survey*

buggs666:
Bette and Tina needs to stay together. Helena needs to die a slow painful death.

N/A 4: More Shane, Jenny gone...

Digitalgoddess: Of course in a fantasy world Bette and Tina would get together forever etc have a family......And the rest of the characters would find true love. But real life isn't like that.

N/A 5: I would have like to see Marina stay on because she is gorgeous... but I would like to see Shane's character develop from this commitment-scared, immature young women into a woman who devotes her love to one woman, and watch her character develop into someone like Bette or Tina

Who would you love to see on the show? (As a main character, supporting character or guestbian.)

Krizten: Janeane Garafalo would be awesome, Kiera Knightly, Angelina Jolie, though I doubt that could happen, they might be too big.

Shane_be_mine: Alyssa Milano.

Athena: Angelina Jolie.

So_funny: I don't know...I love the main cast and the guests have been really good so far, but just for color, perhaps we should listen to Jennifer and have the entire cast of Buffy the Vampire Slayer...or just Alyson Hannigan.

Frida: Catharine Zeta Jones, Angelina Jolie, Miranda Richardson…

Laura: Tia Texada would be good... And It would be fun to see some High profile lesbian playing themself as Ellen or Melissa Etheridge.

Melanie: Angelina Jolie.

Rich: Before this season, I would have said Sandra Bernhard, so good work on that! I thought it was great you had Arianna Huffington, something I never would have guessed, although scarily appropriate. I'm not sure who else - surprise me.

Jay: Mix Robert Romano and Weaver together. Candice Bergan could so play that.
Breezer: Alyssa Milano, Ellen Muth, Piper Perabo, and Jessica Pare. Oh and Ellen DeGeneres, that would be awesome.
Grimm: Christina Ricci, Catharine Zeta Jones, Jorja Fox (wonderful, wonderful) and Marcia Cross (she could poison Helena).

Jay 2: I would luv to see sum mre mainstream actors on da show, I can't think of any names now though............

Dana 4-ever: Radha Mitchell and Angelina Jolie are the ones I can imagine on the show.

Adamant_Eve: Tina Fey would be cool, I dunno just popped in my head. She could be like a reporter w/Alice's magazine or something.

Serendipidy: -

J: I have NO IDEA. As long as they are good actresses and actors, I'm fine with anyone that comes along. =D
Carrie: -

N/A: Brian Molko.

MistressKitty: The possibilites are mind boggling. I know Sarah Michelle Gellar watches the show... that would be interesting.

Kincora: Eddie Izzard, Shane could be his assistant on a movie set. Now that would add some comedy. So far Dana is it as far as funny moments go.

Kat: I heard Iyari Limon (Kennedy in BTVS) tried out for Carmen's role. Obviously she didn't get it, and I love Sarah Shahi, but I'd like to see them bring Iyari in as another character.

Mailis: I have a huge crush on Gina Gherson...

Brea: Have a girl with some weight on her. Just a little heavier.

Alice is my Homegirl: Catharine Zeta Jones? Droool! OhmyGOD that woman is HOT! And she speaks with a British accent if necessary, and she's a far better actress than former temptress Marina. And Radha Mitchell in a supporting role… Alyson Hannigan too, perhaps? More performances by 'real' people, I love when they turn up on the show. It's a real treat!

Silver_roxy:
Marina!!!

N/A 2: Dont know.

Horace: Joan Allen, Patricia Clarkson, Blythe Danner.

Chloe S: More celebrity guestbians.

Kaela: The girl who plays Lara.

Joann: Guestbian: Sandra Bullock. I would love it if they could create a funky little storyline to be able to put one of the characters (NOT JENNY) on the Ellen show, promoting something.

N/A 3: -

Joey: My wishlist consists of a vast number of names. But Jorja Fox is right at the top of it, as is Amber Benson and Eliza Dushku. The last two always made my Buffy sessions more than watchable. Ally Sheedy, Emma Thompson and Stockard Channing for guestbians just because I like them, but only one would probably do it.

Maria: Catharine Zeta Jones, Renee O'Connor, Kirsten Dunst, Samaire Armstrong, Lucy Lawless… and lots of other people.

Chelsea: Melissa Etheridge!!! lol, just kidding... maybe. :-P

buggs666:
Rosie O'Donnell.

N/A 4: Can I think that one over?

Digitalgoddess: Can't say I know off the top of anyone.

N/A 5: -

What has the show changed? (For you/the world, etc.)

Krizten: Um, my Sunday night scheduale (sp?)? Other than that, I have no clue.

Shane_be_mine: It has made me more willing to accept my sexuality, to admit what I had always hidden about myself. I think it is just the beginning of the change in the way the world percieves Lesbians, and hopefully it will have a positive impact on people's thinking.

Athena: It has changed some peoples thought on lesbians.

So_funny: Well, when I first watched it, I came into it as a straight/curious girl. I figured I'd watch it to gain a better understanding since I have a lot of friends who are gay/bi. after watching it I realized that I've been kidding myself all this time. I was in denial about my own sexuality and it gave me courage to accept it and come out to my friends.

Frida: I've come out to my friends and family and have friends in different countries I speak to often now. I might visit one in Germany this summer.

Laura: Apart from the burning desire to move to LA, nothing much has changed.

Melanie: The characters are more developed this season. The show has helped me see the world in a different light.

Rich: Well obviously it's given televised representation for lesbians. Lesbians seem hotter than ever (i.e. "the new fag"). It's also nice that it's not over the top like the awful Queer as Folk.

Jay: For me--it's put a bandaid on the gaping Buffy wound. For lesbians--now we ALL, more or less, have a TV show we can talk about to each other. Someone says DAMN THAT CANDICE and you're like hey those overalls are hot. It's just natural now. For the WORLD-- prolly good that some gender fucks were exposed to the world. Though, really, we could've done without the mullet that swallowed LA.

Breezer: It's really opened my eyes to the lesbian world and how much I falsely judged it. Lesbians are freaking awesome.

Grimm: The show will hopefully contribute to the discussion of the lesbian woman as a subject rather than object.

Jay 2: It changed the world's perception on drama in a lesbian/hetrosexual show, its not about who's fuckin who, its about their lives, their trip through life.........we just there 4 da ride.

Dana 4-ever: The way people look at lesbians and bisexual women, I think. Less porno perspective, more reality.

Adamant_Eve: -

Serendipidy: There are several very good movies out now that focus on lesbians and try to show the reality of lesbian life. But until The L Word I was never really witness to such a simple view of lesbian life. Where it was just made to finally appear normal (like it should). Until the show I always felt like there was still such a stigma around it. After watching the first 2 seasons of the show I finally became comfortable enough to come out to my mother without any hesitation. That was pretty big.

J: I think it hasn't changed a lot for 'the world', because the world is very big (duh). I mean, just very few people have access to The L Word. But for me specifically, and I think for a lot of other people in my position, it changed a lot. Having a TV show entirely about people like you is very meaningful. Besides, the world can change a little bit at a time. The important thing is that it changes.

Carrie: -

N/A: It has made me go crazy with doubts on whether I should break up a relationship with a man. Always thought I was bisexual, but right now wondering about if that's actually the case...

MistressKitty:
How comfortable I am with my sexuality has definately increased. I had very little exposuse to lesbians grouwing up, so seeing them represented on a television show is freeing.
Kincora: Any two people can love each other, and the fucking red states can get over it and put up with us.

Kat:
There have always been certain shows that the lesbian community tend to gather on in their own little avenues and go wild - Xena, BTVS etc. The L Word has exemplified this and given us an area where we are the authority within said fandom, instead of being an "alternative" subsection.

Mailis:
In France, the impact is quite limited since it hasn't aired on TV right now... so nothing has changed so far...

Brea: It has opened my mind to many new things. I mean I was open minded before, but it has just taught me so many things.

Alice is my Homegirl: It's good to show the world that women aren't a product that men have exclusive access to. And the series is a real icebreaker to use when you need it. I've made many good friends thanks to TLW.

Silver_roxy:
I love cheesy over-dramatic television...

N/A 2: My view on gay relationships. I have never actually known anyone who is gay and I had (I guess) just made up my own assumptions about gay people. I guess, I'm not as much of an asshole as I was before I started watching this show.

Horace:
-

Chloe S: It ruined my work life - due to addiction to the show.

Kaela: I think it has changed the way people view lesbians, not all of us want sex constantly, sometimes we wanna just be held , and we aren't gonna try to steal your girlfriend and if that happens then I guess she's just doing what she wants.

Joann: It changed everything. I live in Southwest Florida and there isn't much of a gay community here, but after the first season I was moved to try again to find the others and went online and found a local group and now we've made some really good friends and it's just been wonderful to have connections to people who speak the same language. It really saved me.

N/A 3:
I see lesbianism in a whole new light.

Joey:
Well, my mom asked me what a strap-on was a few days ago…

Maria: Lesbians are a lot more hip now. The femme ones, that is.

Chelsea: Absolutely nothing. Just kidding! It actually helped me write... I opened up a lot more in my own way from watching the show. As for the world, I only know one other person who even has Showtime that actually watches the show. Not much world changing in Warner Robins, GA.

buggs666: THAT YOU SHOULDN'T BE ASHAMED OF WHO AND WHAT YOU ARE! We all are the same just some are a little different.

N/A 4: For me it's just a great show.

Digitalgoddess: The Jenny "self mutilation" episode hit really close to home for me. I totally understood what it was like to want to hurt myself and feel completely "crazy". The show I think has changed my life for the better because I feel good about myself when I watch it with my friends. A lot of the times we dont' feel like it's okay to be ourselves and we need some reassurance.

N/A 5: (rep.) For the world I think that the L word is a revelation amongst the world today because it has failed to include characters that are the "Butch" representation of lesbians. People are so stereotypical and believe that one mask fits all, yet the truth is that gay people are just normal people, with a sexual preference of their own sex. Shane is portrayed as a more masculine lesbian than perhaps marina or Bette. Although she is still feminine in some ways and The L word hasnt completley erased the idea of slightly butch lesbians, but the show has slowly coaxed the mind of america, and the uk to accepting that there is more than one representation.
For me The L word has allowed me to become more confident in myself about my sexuality and I think the representation of the lesbian community has opened the eyes of so many people.
